On March 23, 2006, Beth Noveck presents Peer to Patent project at the STIET Seminar at the University of Michigan. The research Seminar will provide an opportunity to discuss the Community Reform project with leading scholars in information systems design and management. Prof. Paul Resnick, organizer of the seminar, is a pioneer in the field of recommender systems (sometimes called collaborative filtering or social filtering) and is one of the nation's leading experts in reputation and expertise.; The discussion will focus on the rating and reputation mechanisms to drive the community review system.
STIET is a program created by the University
of Michigan, with support from the National
Science Foundation. It is a program for scholars interested in the social and technical aspects of electronic transactions,
including e-commerce. This program,
called STIET (Socio-Technical Infrastructure for Electronic Transactions), involves four University of Michigan schools and colleges: the School of Information, the Business School, the College of Engineering,
and the Department of Economics in the College of Literature, Science & the Arts.
