Thanks to Todd Huffman, who participated in the Stanford Community Patent Workshop, for pointing out Feed Rinse (also profiled on Boing Boing). Feed Rinse is what it sounds like, a tool to filter RSS feeds and block out unwanted content. He suggests that it might get us most of the way there toward allowing customization and filtering of an RSS feed of published patents, allowing users to customize their own feeds. It currently works as a black list, rather than a white list, but it definitely demonstrates how simple it could be to build the necessary filters.
